Mas Ramades

"Rural house in the Empordà region, at the foot of the Montgrí Natural Park"

1577

Located between the towns of Torroella de Montgrí and L’Estartit, in the Baix Empordà region, 40 minutes from Girona, and just five minutes from the beaches of L’Estartit, we find Mas Ramades, a rural house that rents rooms, but that can also be rented in its entirety, with capacity for 15 people.

Mas Ramades is a Catalan farmhouse dating to before the 18th century which has been owned by the present family since 1873. In 2008 the building was turned into rural accommodation after undergoing a complete renovation, respecting the traditional local stone architecture, the original roofs and ceilings, common spaces, fireplace, and some of the furniture, and preserving ornamental elements and farming tools and equipment

The farmhouse has two stories, connected by an original stone staircase. On the ground floor, there is an entrance hall, with information about activities and nearby places of interest. There is also a living room with fireplace and comfortable sofas where you can read or have long relaxing conversations. Next to the hall, there is a games room equipped with a pool table, a table for playing games and a large screen for watching some of the more than 50 films in the house’s video-library. On the same floor there is also a dining room that opens out onto an inner courtyard where breakfast and other meals can be served on request.

Connected to the dining room is the famous “cuina d’hostes” or “guest kitchen”, an enormous fully equipped kitchen with pantry, barbecue, dishwasher, oven, microwave, fridges, freezer, coffee maker… and a 5-metre-long table where everyone can sit and eat together.

Upstairs there are seven bedrooms – four doubles, two triples and a quadruple – each with its own full bathroom, hairdryer, heating, towels, bed linen, ceiling fans, air conditioning, flat-screen television, wardrobe, table – very well-equipped bedrooms where you will feel completely at home.

The outdoor areas at Mas Ramades have been designed to suit everybody. There are places to rest and relax in the midst of nature and lovely landscapes. There is also a saltwater swimming pool, perfect for cooling-off in the summer months, surrounded by green spaces, shade and loungers offering spectacular views of the Ter River plain, the sea and Montgrí mountain.

Also in the garden, we find a magnificent barbecue and tables beside the pool, ideal for picnics, lunches or dinners with all your family and friends.

Mas Ramades is located close to Montgrí Natural Park, home to some beautiful natural areas such as the mouth of the Ter River, the beaches of L’Estartit and the Medes Islands, as well as the medieval towns of Pals and Peratallada. A combination of plains, rivers, mountains and beaches that offer you a wide range of activities to enjoy during your stay. One highly recommended and not too taxing walk is a visit to Montgrí Castle, with its spectacular views of the Costa Brava stretching all the way to the Pyrenees.

We’re sorry, but Mas Ramades does not admit pets or children under the age of 14.
